WBF World Youth Title in Australia

HERMAN ENE-PURCELL VS JAMES SINGH - WORLD YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

HERMAN ENE-PURCELL WILL LOOK TO ADD TO HIS EVER GROWING BELT COLLECTION when he takes on James 'The Beast' Singh on March 14 on the very special TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fight 25 card at Rumours International.

Ene-Purcell the current Queensland and Australasian heavyweight champ meets Fiji's James Singh, the current World Boxing Foundation Australasian title holder over 10 rounds for the WBF World Youth Title.

Ene-Purcell has ear marked himself as one of Australia's rising heavyweight stars while Singh has quickly stamped himself as the number one heavyweight in Fiji.

The Herminator is coming off an undefeated calendar year of 2019 where he had three fights for three wins, among them a career best unanimous decision victory over Will Nasio for the Australasian Heavyweight crown.

"2019 was great for my career but that's in the past I'm concentrating on what's in front of me," Ene-Purcell said.

"James Singh is well named, he is a beast, he has won every one of his fights by knock out so I'm under no illusions I need to be at my best for this one.

"The opportunity to fight for a World Youth title is a big opportunity for me and I'm very appreciative.

"I look forward to fighting again in front of the Toowoomba crowd on this special night in honour of Brayd.

"Brayd was a former World Youth Champion so to win a World Youth title on this card would be really special."

James Singh has underlined his class and potential in his last two fights in particular.

A stunning TKO victory over the previously undefeated Petero Qica followed by a seventh round knock out of Jonasa Kavica for the WBF Australasian title has set him on a collision course for bigger opportunities.

That bigger opportunity comes in the form of Herman Ene-Purcell for the WBF World Youth title.

"I told everyone before the Qica fight i would knock him out," James Singh said.

"I said people will remember my name for a long time, I wanted a title shot next, I got it with the WBF Australasian title now I have a bigger opportunity in Australia on March 14.

"I fear no man, I only fear God, I will be knocking out Herman Ene-Purcell.

"Tell Herman to have his pyjamas ready, it's sleep time."

Ene-Purcell was unfazed by Singh's choice of words.

"Good luck to him, that's what he believes will happen, I believe differently," Ene-Purcell said.

"Be careful what you wish for.

"March 14 we will find out if his fists can cash in the cheques his mouth is writing."

It's a mouth watering match up and one worthy of the WBF World Youth title.

"The WBF is all about providing opportunities for boxers all over the World and having a current WBF Australasian Champion taking on another Regional Champion for our World Youth heavyweight title is just fantastic," WBF President Mick Croucher said.

"I would like to thank TGW & Smithy's Promotions for showcasing this championship contest for these two young men."
