December 5th in the Philippines, Games and Amusement Board representatives on behalf of the World Boxing Foundation presented Mr Alvin S. Go of the Philippines the WBF International Coordinator of the Year 2022 Award as well as his official appointment to the WBF Executive Committee as the new WBF Vice President of its Asia Pacific Region.
Alvin brings a host of attributes to the Asia Pacific Region that will only benefit all professional boxing stakeholders. Professionalism, enthusiasm and most importantly, integrity.
Within such a disjointed, fragmented and often unprofessional industry all over the World, Alvin has excelled within the Philippines creating opportunities for Filipino boxers to fight for WBF Championship Honours and improve their regional and World ratings as a result.
His dealings with the Philippines Games and Amusement Board, Promoters, Boxers, Trainers and Managers has always been professional and transparent and he is highly enthusiastic.
Post pandemic, Alvin has been extremely busy sanctioning WBF championships across the Philippines crowning no less than 6 new champions this year alone hence why the decision was an easy one to award him with this years International Coordinator of the Year Award and with his promotion to Asia Pacific Vice President, he will now be working closely with current WBF Coordinators and Promoters right across the Asia Pacific Region and will be responsible for not only the growth of the organisation but to also appoint and train new WBF Officials, Coordinators and Supervisors throughout the region.
Whilst the Asia Pacific Region is the largest of the WBF Regions in the World, the task isn’t a daunting one for Alvin as he will continue to succeed as he has in the Philippines, only now on a much larger scale.
Alvin is also heavily involved in many aspects of Professional Boxing with his own social media and boxer profile platform ‘Real Fight PH’ and is also very busy with his boxing commentary role for televised promotions across the Philippines.
“I congratulate Alvin on his appointment and am confident that he will continue with his success in his new role with the WBF and I look forward to seeing what he is capable of now that he has a very large region to work with” said WBF President Mr Mick Croucher.
