We the WBF Amateur Masters Division were excited to induct our inaugural inductee to the WBF (AMD) Boxing Hall of Fame in Caloundra Queensland, Australia at the “Ageless Warriors” event on 6th July 2024.…. This highly prestigious award was presented by former IBF World Champion Mr. Barry Michael who travelled from Melbourne, Australia to attend the event.
A father... A husband... A hard-working man with Christian beliefs and values. Mark builds culture and camaraderie. The result is a bond with teammates over blood and sweat, not in a bar or a hotel.
Mark Burgess has worked with Wayne Bennett (a renowned National Rugby League Head Coach in Australia) as a conditioning coach at the Brisbane Broncos NRL Club in Australia and as a fitness and strength trainer, and now supports numerous professional athletes with his knowledge and experience getting the results necessary for their advancement. The 63-year-old has also worked with the NRL’s Melbourne Storm and the New Zealand Warriors NRL Clubs.
Mark spent three years in the protection detail for the Queensland Premier, a 17-year Police veteran in the Queensland Police Service. Affectionately known as ‘CHOPPER’ he has spent the past 17 years whipping people into shape through his boxing business, Team Chopper International.
Chopper also took up a job in Iraq in 2004, to recruit, educate and train an interim police force in the wake of Saddam Hussein’s death, whilst also juggling his own boxing career that yielded three Australian heavyweight titles.
Mark is the current WBF under 65yrs World Boxing Champion…and the very first boxer to be inducted into the WBF Amateur Masters Division Boxing Hall of Fame…!!!
Congratulations Mark on your induction into the WBF (AMD) Boxing Hall of Fame
